A large cabin allows multiple passengers to be carried on a ship.
In-Game Description[]
Passenger cabins allow for the transport of civilian space travelers, and are a prerequisite for taking on any of the lucrative transport missions.
Characteristics[]
Up to ten passengers can be carried in a large cabin. This is the largest cabin available in the game. Cabins cannot be combined to form larger cabins, meaning that a pilot will have to settle with smaller cabins taking up multiple spaces if a larger one cannot be found. Since the most passengers requested to be ferried never go above 20, every passenger mission can be done with just two large cabins, although otherwise they should be removed in favor for other pieces of equipment.
As the description says, cabins are needed before undertaking any passenger mission, whether it be by request from the space lounge or during certain missions in the Supernova storyline.
Like most types of equipment, cabins can be looted from ships as cargo, suggesting that they have been intended for carrying passengers but were not installed.
