The home system is a safe haven from attack for each and every player, which is given at the beginning of the game. Each home system consists of three planets. The Shroud Nebula Nebula is accessible from the home system via a jumpgate.
Outlaws, however, can be found in the home system. They are NPCs (Non-Player Characters), so they will never attack you first. At the beginning of the game, the outlaws control the third planet in the home system, but it can be taken over.

- During Closed Beta, the NPC that controls the third planet in the system is Nico-Peter Coswig, whose initials happen to be "NPC."
